That Maissie

Maissie loves to draw (Def gets that from Mark)  She has been working on giraffe pictures for me.  Here is the evolution of MJ's giraffe:

Let me Translate:

Dear Dad, There is a spider in my room. It scared me when I saw it. love Maissie. Dear Dadddy I love you.

 And this is Maissie being Rapunzel and letting down her golden hair from the top of the stair case.

A night in SLC

We got a hotel room in downtown Salt Lake so we could hang out and then go to teh pioneer parade.

Mark was  a super sport and swam with the kids in the freezing, slightly questionable water.

 Then we walked over to temple square.  Of course it was beautiful.

I love this picture-1 because the are not fighting and 2 the poses are great.

Pioneer Day Parade

We thought it would be a lot of fun to go to the pioneer day parade! We soon realized a million other people thought the same thing :) But we found a little spot and watched the parade that included President Monson. (yeah, did not get the camera out fast enough for that one)

Mac loved the bears on this one

This was by far my favorite float.  It had these great gospel singers on it, but if you zoom in you can see this white dude.  He crashed the float and was rockin out with them.  It was awesome.

And now for the melt down.  We walked 7 or 8 blocks to the parade, which was fine on the way there.  On the way back- a total nightmare.  MJ and Jens aka enemies had a total melt down.  I am talking screaming, kicking, trying to run away into traffic, more screaming, AND more screaming.  I ended up carring Jens aka DRAGON most of the way.  Needless to say we have no plans to do that again . . . ever.

We are going to build a house.  Here are some things on my wish list:

corner sink with shelf on top

a fireplace with a fatty mantle

wood flooring, not sure what color yet

a steam shower

Roomies!

I was so happy to be able to spend some time with Steph- my old roomie.  I wish she lived closer so we could hang out more!

Take us out to the Ball Game

We went to a Buzz Baseball Game.  We went late and left early, but it was a success.

Mac was happy just to have popcorn

Mark was happy with his nachos, Jens with her rootbeer

  

They have a playgound that was a hit.
The best part of the game was when Jens got to sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" (It is the only song that she knows all the words.)

Hiking with the Lemons

It has been nice to be close to some really good hiking.  This was a fun one because Grandma and Grandpa Lemon and Auntie Em were there!

advantages to living on top of the mountain

Being on top of the mountain gives us lots of places to hike (and it is super nice that it is not 10,000 degrees outside too). 

 On this hike you can see Utah Valley on one side of the path,

 And Salt Lake Valley on the other side of the path

 (Who knew Phish could be a horse too?)
