4th of July 2012

We are still figuring out the Utah thing.  The fourth of July was huge.  Parades, parties, picnics everywhere.  Only, we decided to just check out Sandy.  They had a little festival with bounce houses and such.  Mac thought the best thing was the police stuff they had.  He got a real kick out of it.

 We had a little BBQ with the neighbors, Pacia and John and kids.  Pacia is a master cook, so between her food, and Mark's food it was delicious!

We finished up the evening outside with the neighbors watching fireworks.  Next year we will plan a little better and hit up all the parades and fireworks shows.  I guess we missed a pretty good show from our neighbors (the own a firework stand) on July 5.  The only part of it we did catch was a hole burned in our tramp:(.

Day 3 San Fran

Day three was for Mark and Me. We started off by getting the car, only to find out the car had been CRAPed all over.  Sorry Em and Mario.   I seriously have never seen a car get hit so bad in such a short amount of time.

 Funny story time.  This dude was amazing at doing picture letters.  So Mark wrote down Lemon, so he would draw Lemon.  Only, the way it was written, the n may have looked like a m.  So he drew Lemom.  So we paid to have it done again. Both look great.:)

Awesome weekend.  I love spending time with my Mark.

Day 2 San Fran- afternoon

After the parade we grabbed a bite and got Arth a music stand.  We had a bit of a hike, but ended up  at this beautiful museum.  No idea what it was called, Arthur knows.  And the best part, we met up with Kira and Erik and herd a organ concert.  

After the concert we went and sushi.  I love going to sushi with people who know sushi.  Then we all went to hear Arthur's new band.

Day 2 San Fran

Mark and I got up early and drove to Art and Clark's place (Thanks to Em and Mario for letting us use their car).  We went to the Gay pride parade/festival.  It was a lot of fun.  Tons of people.

Day 1 San Fran

Mark and I were able to leave the kids with Amooh and Grandpa and Sam and Dia and go to San Fran.  Mark and I met up at the Oakland airport, Auntie Em picked us up (in her sweet new car).  Saturday we (Mark, Em, Mario, Ben Sofi and me) went berry picking.  We had pie and ice cream for lunch, then picked yummy strawberries and olallie berries,  Oh my hell- best berries EVER!  We got enough to make jam at Ems.

An Afternoon with Michelle

My uncle Andy hooked us up with tickets to see Mrs. Michelle Obama.  I thought she was great.  Very articulate, and loved how she talked about her life before the presidency--i.e. working hard and sacrifice for an education.

Lil Swimmer Jens

We spent almost a week and a half at Grandpa and Amooh's and did not get hardly any pictures.  I hope my mom did.  We had so much fun swimming multiple times a day.  I was really proud of how well Jens started to swim.

Maissie has a TON of hair.  Which is funny because I was worried if she would have any at all the first couple of years.  But I think she decided she had enough of it.

New Hair Cut

I love her new hair.  And I love how it was all her idea.  When she was getting it cut she asked for it short.  I motioned to maybe just cut it shoulder length.  When she got to shoulder length she MJ said, no-I want shorter.  I thought maybe the next morning she might have regrets, but nope.  She loves it.  And I may be bias, but I think it is adorable.

Our stake had a carnival.  I my expectaions were not high, but I was very impressed.  They had rides, and  food, and popcorn, cotton candy, AND face painting. Or in Mark's case head painting.  It was really fun.

The Tramp

With the help of our neighbor Rob, and David, Mark built the frame up for our tramp

I like this picture because we couldn't believe Phish could get in and out of the hole so easily.   However, Angus could not get out on his own.

The kids helped hook all the springs
